Digital Artwork
To a Physical experience.
The fusion of physical and digital art.
They look real — yet Nils Hansen’s artworks are digital collectibles, secured by cryptography with ownership recorded on the blockchain. Collecting becomes a shared experience, connecting art, ownership and community.
Mercedes-Benz Collectibles explores how art, an app and the vehicle can become one connected experience. Through a mobile interface, users can discover and activate collections that shape the car’s appearance, interface and surrounding space.
My Contribution
UI & UX concept, supplier collaboration, collection development and Blender exploration.

Three simple, single-purpose apps serve as the foundation, each addressing a specific need and paving the way for future extensions.
Mercedes-Benz Collectibles was explored as an extension of this platform, retaining connections to the individual apps.
I developed the initial UI and UX concept, then worked with a supplier to bring the idea into a first working prototype. The goal was to switch collections and collectibles through the app and showcase digital art using augmented reality.

The technologies displayed on the left side provide only a brief overview. These technologies are being considered by other teams, as technology is not the primary focus of MB Collectibles.
The goal was to use the car as a canvas for digital art experiences. Digital Art as value add in-car, wide ranging compatibility in user-facing UI & backend. Further we bring digital art to the physical world through our core products with individual Mercedes-Benz Collections. Embed digital art in our core product to ensure credibility in the NFT community.
